Research area
I am interested in fundamental aspects of microbial evolution such as evolvability or limits of adaptation, as well as their underlying (genetic) causes and (phenotypic) consequences. Experimental evolution and genomics make up the core of my work, and are supplemented by microscopy. In particular, my PhD research concerns with the upper limits of thermal adaptation of Pseudoalteromonas haloplanktis, an antarctic marine bacterium.
